The Last Bus
5th September 2015
Sadly, the family bus and coach company is no more. Here for one final time, Xelabus, the new operator of Brijan's former routes, puts N5 BJT back in service.
To get the most out of the day meant an early start, three rides on 111, one on a Bluestar and nineteen miles of walking to get in the right spot for each photo.
The weather was a bit chilly, mostly grey and I got rained on a couple of times.
But the drivers, my fellow passengers and the journeys were great.
A highly enjoyable day, ending with the last ever Brijan bus to Bishop's Waltham . . .
.. . . and money was raised for Naomi House!
0926 arrival in Bishop's Waltham
(0930 service 7 to Southampton).

A walk in the rain from Bishop's Waltham to Denham's Corner.
(1015 Southampton to Bishop's Waltham service 7).

A short walk next to Hedge End station
(1102 from Bishop's Waltham service 8 to Eastleigh).

Then to Fair Oak
(1216 from Eastleigh to Bishop's Waltham service 8).

To Bishop's Waltham next, via Lower Upham and the bus is at Albany Road
(1330 Bishop's Waltham to Southampton on service 7).

On its return to Bishop's Waltham (and after refreshments for me)
(1502 to Eastleigh service 8).

I caught the 1502 to Eastleigh and waited for it to leave again
(1616 to Bishop's Waltham service 8).

After catching the Bluestar number 2, I saw the bus arrive in Southampton
(1730 from Bishop's Waltham service 7).

And it's time to board for the final journey
(1815 to Bishop's Waltham service 7).

Nine in the morning and I'm ahead of the crowd!
People soon began to come out and the final bus was very popular.
